
Andre’s Easy BBQ Rotisserie Chicken
A great easy way to cook a whole chicken on BBQ. Ensure that you have the Rotisserie, and this can be as tasty as any pre-made rotisserie chicken
Equipment
- 1 BBQ Rotisserie attachment
- 1 Drip Pan
- 1 Bowl (medium)
Ingredients
- 5 lbs Whole Chicken (defrosted)
- 4 tsbp Canola Oil
- ¼ cup Ketchup
- 2 tsp Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Thyme
- ½ tsp Ground Ginger
- ½ tsp Paprika
- ½ tsp Dry Mustard
- ¼ tsp Allspice
Instructions
- Remove the grills from the BBQ and attach the Rotisserie motor
- Preheat BBQ to 350-375℉
- In the Bowl, combine the Ketchup, Brown Sugar, Thyme, Ground Ginger, Paprika, Dry Mustard and AllSpice into a paste
- Rinse the Chicken and pat it dry
- Fill the Drip Pan about half way with water, and place under where the chicken will be
- Insert the Rotisserie into the Chicken, and put on the BBQ
- Baste the Chicken with about ⅓ of the paste
- Cook with the lid closed for about 30min
- Baste the Chicken with about ½ of the remaining paste
- Cook for another 45min, with the lid closed
- Baste the Chicken with remaining paste
- Cook for another 15 min, with lid closed, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165℉
- Allow the Chicken to rest for 20min before carving and serving
