
Tourtiere
This recipe is the one that has been used in the Plante/Gratto/Benoit households for years.Easy to make, and yet so wonderfully delicious!
Equipment
- 1 Stock Pot
Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 lb Ground Veal
- 4 lb Ground Pork
- 1 Onion (chopped)
- ½ tsp Cinnamon
- ½ tsp Ground Cloves
- 4 cloves Garlic
- 1 cup Water
- 8 Pie Shells (frozen)
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to the stock pot
- Simmer uncovered for 1½hrs, stirring occasionally
- Let the mixture sit overnight and remove excess fat
- Scoop the mixture into 4 Pie Shells
- Use remaining 4 Pie Shells as top crust,, piecing with a fork
Notes
Once the pies have been assembled, put in the freezer until you are ready to eat them.
To prepare them, cook from frozen for 1hr at 400℉
